We have had the movie with Harrison Ford looking for the ark of the covanant. Others have seen, on the Discovery channel, groups of so-called experts setting out to locate the ark, and it is reported that a zealous group of religious Jews are planning to build a third temple, complete with the ark in the Holy of Holies. Sadly, none of these people understand what the temple or the ark represented, or where it is today.
During Jesus' ministry he made a profoundly, revealing statement about the temple, which was misunderstood by those who heard him, and the religious people of today, including the so-called ministry of The Worldwide Church of God. The Jews asked Jesus for a sign, and he replied thus: "Destroy this temple, an in three days I will raise it up"(John 2:19). Owing to lack of understanding, the Jewish people thought that he was talking about the second temple that took 46 years to build, but John confirmed: "But he spake of the temple of his body"(John 2:21). So for the first time in human history, it was revealed that the Tabernacle which was built in the winderness, and the temple, that was subsequently built by Solomon, was an actual representation of the human body.
But, what does it all mean? Moses was told to make the Tabernacle and all the others items "according to the fashion he had seen"(Acts 7:44). So from that statement it is safe to say that God was the designer of the Tabernacle, and everything else associated with it.
However, although it was built as a dwelling place for God, we are told: "Howbeit the most High dwells not in temples made with hands"Acts 7:48). So it was a representation of where God actually dwells. Well, where does he dwell? Who better to answer that question than the Chosen Vessel thus: "Know you not that you are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwells in you"(1 Cor.3:16); (1 Cor.6:19).
From Paul's exhotation and admonition, it would appear that the Corinthian Christians were ignorant of the transformation that had taken place in their lives as a result of genuine repentance, baptism and receipt of the Holy Spirit, and some were subjecting themselves to all forms of defilements. So he added: "If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which temple you are"(1 Cor.3:17).
Now I know that there is a vast army of misguided, Worldwide Church of God members, who are now attending UCG, LCG, RCG, PCG, COG/Hulme and a cabal of other divided groups, that believe the spirit of God dwells in them. But nothing could be further from the truth, as most of these people came to the church without repentance, especially the vast majority of those that were ordained ministers.
Everyone of these young men matriculated to what is laughingly called a tertiary education, because they had achieved the required grades at college. And, of course, if they fathers were ministers, deacons or people of perceived high standing in the church, they were automatically accepted for Ambassador College. But experience has shown that 99% of them were not called by God.
They then spent three years listening to and regurgitating the biblical nosense taught by Dr Meredith, Dr Hoah, Raymond McNair and the members of the faculty, who are either dead or dying, without any true knowledge of the bible.
The young men in turn feigned humility by cleaning toilets and picking up rubbish, as though any such behaviour is a true sign of humility. They also learn to speak in the graduate clubs, and those that didn't get into trouble were either ordained or sent out as a ministerial trainee, under the guidance of a pastor who suddenly felt threatened. Can you believe it?
Where is the ark today?
