The Poisonous Malevolence of False Religion

When God led the children of Israel out of the land of Egypt, he made a covenant with them, and led them forty years through the wilderness to teach them humility(Deut.8:3).  At the end of the forty years, Moses instructed Israel to destroy the seven nations that were in the promised land, and have no fellowship with them.  Then Moses added: "Neither shall you make marriages with them; your daughter you shall not give unto his son, nor his daughter shall you take unto your son.  For they will turn away your son from following me, that they may serve other gods"(Deut.7:3-4).

Now the seven nations that dwelt in the land of Canaan were steeped in witchcraft and devil worship, which led them to practise every perversion under heaven.  So God warned his people not to get involved with them, because as God says, "They will turn away your son from following me." God didn't say they may turn your son away, but they will turn him away.  So what is it that is so destructive and powerful about false religion, that it is capable of turning God's people away from him?  If you have never seen the destructive nature of the poison of heresy, pray that you don't live to see it.

Of course, we have experienced how the devil subtly deceived Joe Tkach senior into introducing false religion into The Worldwide Church of God, and its destructive effects on the lives of thousands, who have turned away from following God.  As a result of poisonous heresy, many are now dead, hundreds, if not thousands, have been divorced from wives, children, families and everyone is totally mad.

To be continued...
